Summer Fields' Archive Collection

We are delighted to have a permanent and dedicated space for our archive collection accessible to all our community. Up until April of this year our archive was in storage and not easily accessible.
Our dedicated archive room is situated in The Mark Shvidler Library

Summer Fields' dedicated archive display room is situated in our new library. The school has an extensive archive dating back to when the school was founded in 1864. The collection comprises of school registers, legal documents, maps, magazines, photographs, paintings, memorabilia, books and film footage.

Our archivist, Laurence Dardenne has been busy delving into our archive and curating displays in the archive room.

It is wonderful to have a dedicated space where we can display our archive - a 'Living History' if you like.  The school has a rich and interesting history with a number of eminent former pupils.  We hope that members of our community will enjoy exploring the collection and finding out more about our history.

Visitors are welcome to visit the archive collection, however, we ask that you contact us in advance to arrange a time. Similarly, if you have archive material that you would like to share with us or offer to the school, please contact Laurence Dardenne.

We will also be starting work on our digital archive. This has been made possible by a most generous donation so that those of you further afield and around the globe can browse and explore our collection and rediscover your schooldays or those of your relatives.  Work has already commenced and we anticipate bringing this to you in the near future.
