The Right Reverend David Jennings (OS 1952-1957) will lead a Service of Thanksgiving for the Reverend Willy Pryor on Saturday 10th September at 12 noon at Summer Fields, Oxford.
The Reverend Willy Pryor, OS 1947-1952, Staff 1969-1999, passed away peacefully on 24th September 2021. He was an inspirational and passionate teacher who touched the lives of generations of Summerfieldians.
'Great Uncle Bulgaria' as he was known in the days when he took the Summer Fields boys wombling in Summertown, even managed to get the Lord Mayor to pick up the millionth bit of litter while 'Clearing up and Cheering up' Summertown! Just recently, an Old Summerfieldian remembering Willy said, “Every time I stoop down to pick up a piece of litter I am reminded of the Head Womble and those yellow t-shirts.”
We very much hope that you will join us on Saturday 10th September as we give thanks for Willy and his extraordinary contribution to Summer Fields and its community and lunch afterwards in the Salata Pavilion.
